Solar Panels
Also known as Solar Photovoltaics (PV), solar panel electricity systems capture the sunlight and convert it into electricity used to run household appliances and lighting. They don’t need direct sunlight to work, being able to generate electricity on a cloudy day as well.
How Solar Panels Work
Solar panels consist of modules of photovoltaic cells that can be either mounted on the roof or on the ground. These cells are made from layers of semi-conducting material (usually silicon) across which light creates an electric field. The stronger the sunlight, the more electricity is produced.
